ABOUT OVERACTIVE BLADDER DISORDER
Cause
Overactive bladder is a form of urinary incontinence. It's normaly caused by involuntary contractions of the muscles located in the wall of the bladder causing a sudden and unstoppable need to urinate. In some cases the muscle doesn't relax and causes the feeling of a full bladder continuously.
symptoms
O.A.B (Overactive bladder) disorder is normally characterized by having one of the following conditions:
A constant feeling of a full bladder even when the bladder is empty.Causing the person with the condition have a hard time knowing when their bladder is really full.
Sudden urinary urgency at inconvenient and unpredictable times, sometimes losing control before reaching a toilet.
TREATMENT
Up until a year ago doctors had no medication they would prescribe to children under Ten, but luckily in the past year there are two type of medication which have proved successful on most children with severe O.A.B. These are:
- The medication Oxybutnin (Currently being used in many contries)
- Botulinum toxin (boxtox) (still in testing stages)
